Josh Lokko

Principal — Capital markets, AI and product development

Josh advises businesses and law firms on applying AI to their work, drawing on his experience in capital markets law, banking and software development. He is CEO and co-founder of Statera, where he leads product development, and he previously practised law in A&O Shearman’s Capital Markets group and worked in Global Equity Derivatives on the trading floor at Scotiabank. Josh is a frequent podcast guest and speaker on topics including the future of law, AI & legaltech, education in an AI-first world, coding with AI, user experience, legal design, and more. He is also a mentor in the LegalQuants Residency program and contributor to several open-source projects, including launch plugins for frontier-lab legal tools.

Justin Mayne

Principal — Law & economics, legal technology and quantitative analysis

Justin is a lawyer and economist who combines legal expertise with quantitative analysis to help antitrust and M&A teams navigate regulatory questions. He is Founder and CEO of Dex Intelligence, where his work focuses on using data and computation in merger review. He previously practised competition and foreign investment law at Blakes, following articling at Stikeman Elliott. Before studying law at the University of Toronto, Justin studied mathematics at Dalhousie University and economics at the PhD level at the University of British Columbia.

Joshua Morrison

Advisor — Legal innovation, education and dispute resolution

Joshua is Director of the Future of Law Lab at the University of Toronto, bringing experience in legal practice, dispute resolution technology and support for entrepreneurs. He previously served as Innovation Director at SIËSDE Dispute Resolution Technologies and as Lawyer & Innovation Director at The Common Sense Divorce. At the Legal Innovation Zone at Ryerson, he managed programs focused on family dispute resolution and legal support for entrepreneurs. His work also includes teaching entrepreneurs about legal challenges facing start-ups and speaking on AI regulation, risk and policy.

Daniel Choi

Affiliate Scholar — AI policy, professional ethics, and securities law

Daniel researches the impact of AI on the legal profession and advises law firms on responsible AI adoption. He previously practised capital markets law for a leading global law firm in New York City, and has subsequently consulted for AI start-ups and legal tech products. He is a member of the Artificial Intelligence Research Ethics Board for a Canadian hospital system, a lecturer at the Lincoln Alexander School of Law, a research fellow for Osgoode’s Investor Protection Clinic, and serves on the board of multiple non-profit organizations. He holds a master’s degree (ethics) from McMaster University, a JD from Osgoode Hall Law School, and is currently pursuing further graduate studies at the University of Toronto. His current research focuses specifically on AI’s implications for senior practitioners, law firms, and legal training.

William leads engineering at Falconer Point, advising on system architecture, technical feasibility and the implementation of AI-enabled legal workflows. He is also co-founder and CTO of Statera. Previously, William held software-engineering roles at Amazon, financial-AI company Boosted.ai, ecommerce platform Carbon6 and commercial-real-estate technology company Findspace. His experience spans production software, data pipelines, cloud infrastructure and product development. William holds an Honours Physics degree from the University of Waterloo.
